Salitre

    In the city of Cádiz we are introduced to the cities old town, the neighborhood of La Viña. It’s a very particular space, a microcosm within the city with its own personality. Mariló and Chano live there along with their children Carli and Kiko. A family marked by the loss of their eldest son Raúl, and the explosion of a munitions cache that dyed the night skies of the city red on 18 August 1947. A misfortune that caused chaos in the streets and led to 152 deaths, 5,000 injured and damage to nearly 2,000 homes. 

    But Salitre is also the Cadiz Carnival, oyster stone, La Caleta beach, the east wind and a memory that brings to mind a sky that is stained red ...
